So, I’ve covered some basic stuff in recent weeks and thought maybe I should put together a checklist in one place for all of the newbie MLM marketing people out there (or not so new). I will be touching on the top things that you need to do when getting started building your online presence. I talk to people everyday on these social networks that are confused on how to get started with the overwhelming amount of information out there.
I Have To Identify My U.S. – What?
First, you need to define your target market and then identify your unique selling proposition (U.S.P). The large majority of people (myself included) are so eager to get started marketing that they ignore these crucial first steps. I overlooked this and didn’t identify who I wanted to target and why those people would want to partner with me. The blitz everyone approach is not the answer to your marketing plan! You need to be specific and calculated about the people you target and market to. If you do this, you will find your opt-ins and conversions will skyrocket.
Look Mamma, I Found The Best Word For Marketing My Business Online| “MLM”
Next, now that you know the your USP and target market, you need to do keyword research. Doing keyword research is the second most overlooked item that the majority of new marketers and a lot of experienced ones completely miss out on. They will pick the common phrases that are so heavily competed for that it will take them months and months of work to even see a fraction of results. Instead, you should take the time to do your research and identify words and phrases that get traffic and convert to build your MLM business around.
How Am I Supposed To Make My Business Successful? Making Use Of Your Time Is Key!
Finally, put together a comprehensive MLM marketing plan. Identify the two or three marketing avenues (video, social media, articles, etc.) that you want to focus on first. Then, put together a monthly plan outlining what you envision your accomplishments for the month should be. Last in this step is to break your monthly outline down into daily tasks or your daily method of operation (DMO). Your DMO can be the most critical part of your overall marketing plan because it will keep you on task and ensure you are constantly heading in the right direction.
Doing these things on the front of your business will ensure that you have an MLM marketing plan that is concise and organized. Is a week of your time spent on the front end of your business worth having the proper foundation for your entire MLM marketing plan? I think everyone would answer that question with a resounding “Yes”!
If you are new or already have a business running and not getting the results you want, take the time to go back and be sure you have a firm grasp on these items.

Hey Eric,
It is important to start with 2 marketing avenues. If someone cannot start with that amount. Then start with 1 and master it before moving on to the next. It will help out understanding what is going on and teach others.
I know I said this yesterday, But thanks for sharing the information you had in the last couple of days!

No problem man, a ton of people are spinning their wheels online because they didn’t get started the right way.
Thanks for stopping by,

I was just teaching this today—take the time to know WHO your target market is. Sooner or later you’ll come back to this, so why not save yourself time and money by doing it first.
Great points Eric!
Hey Monique,
Thanks for stopping by. All to often, people overlook these simple items that will make or break your online business. Glad to be talking to someone else who realizes the value in getting people started properly up front.
Thanks,
Eric
Hey Eric
USP – Check
KEYWORD RESEARCH – Check & getting better thanks to you
TIME MANAGEMENT – Check, a skill I an proud of.
I remember being a newbie. I heard similar things to what you have written here. The problem is it seemed to simple at the time for it to really make a difference. As time went on I came to realize that is the fundamentals to MLM that reallt make the difference. Get them in place early and your off to a good start!!
More newbie need to understand the importance of this!
Hey Eric,
Great tips there, I think the most important thing on there for me is maintaining a plan. You have to have this in place if you really want to succeed.
Thanks the post.

How’s it going Eric?
Any newbie in the home business arena totally needs a checklist. Without really knowing where to start, it’s pretty much impossible to get results.
I remember when I first started, I had to use a checklist. In fact, I still do.
I write down what needs to get done and as I complete each one, I check it off the list.

Hey Eric,
USP- I am pretty unique
Keyword Research – Ninja Master of Synonym Research
Time Management – Huh?
I am seriously in need of some better time management. But with my normal routine, I spend as much as 50 hours a week driving from State to State. What I need is to hire someone to drive me around while I work from my back seat office.
How much does the driver for Mrs. Daisy get paid? I might be interested in the job.
I am the ninja master of ……………………… beer drinking!
Sorry struggling to get that out.
Thank you for writing such an appealing post. Normall I see the same thing and it starts to get on my nearves. Thanks again and I’ll be back for more.
This is some great advice, Eric!
I was one of the suckers who started out trying to use keywords like mlm, too!
Hopefully, this will help some newcomers bypass this frustrating path…
Hey Eric,
Great article, I definitely need to get better at my time management.
I’m going to start writing out a monthly action plan and break it down into a DMO right now, seems like i always have so many idea’s it actually gets in the way of getting things done.
Thanks for that,
Matt
Thanks Derek,
I am confident that if I didn’t start my online marketing career with SEO courses, I would have been in the same boat. Either way, I see way to many people picking generic words and then doing the videos and articles, but never get a trickle of results.
Thanks fro stopping by,
Eric
Hey Matt,
Thanks for stopping by! As good as I think my ideas are, I found out the hard way that less is definitely more. You can get ten times the amount of work finished when your attention and focus in one 1 or 2 things max!
Eric
